Tuesday, September 10th
Wednesday, September 11th
Every Wednesday at 6 pm, Tyler Mead hosts this weekly open mic competition. Comedians have 3 minutes to do material, and each week a winner will be crowned based on arbitrary unexplained reasons, awarded a prize, and offered a spot as guest host the following week. Tell jokes, laugh, and fight for the crown! (Crown not included.)
There are only like 2 people that are actually FROM New York City. Everybody else came from small hamlets and villages and townships from all over the world. Every third Tuesday, Trey Galyon brings you the best comics in town that aren’t from in town. Bring your yearbooks and wear your letter-jackets to show your hometown pride.
Don’t start none, won’t be none.
We live in a time where our country hasn’t been more divided since the Civil War. America is plagued by polarizing issues, like whether a real feminist uses diva cups or tampons, who is the worst Wahlburg, and whether tall men are actually better than short men (they are).
Thankfully, we have comedians, the wisest and most ethical intellectuals in the world, to settle these debates for good. Join host Faisal Alam, a celebrity guest judge, and the rest of the audience as we vote to decide which side is right once and for all at Kangaroo Court!
Thursday, September 12th
Lizard Brain is a monthly comedy show hosted by comedian Lizzy Cassidy (not a lizard). Each month she invites her funniest friends to come hang out, drink, and make audiences laugh. We’ve got good food, cheap drinks, and great comedy. You’re not going to want to miss out on this one!
Friday, September 13th
Every Friday at 6 drop your name and good vibes into the bucket at Comedians Who Know Each Other. If you don’t know your trio hosts Greg Warner, Davidson Boswell, and Pedro Salinas, come introduce yourself, and become a comedian who knows other comedians! It’s fun, it’s a learning experience, it’s something to do!
Power Hour! Open Mic is brought to you by Amy Shanker, Sam Evans, and Cameron Ford. Originating in Chicago, this mic mixes your hot new bits with some beer and piano. While you’re working on getting famous, a designated weekly “drinker” is on stage beside you working on a pitcher or 2 of beer. He or she will occasionally chime in to riff with your set. This is a fun, no-fail mic; if you drop the ball, the drinker will pick it up. And don’t worry! At the end of the mic, we’ll watch as the drinker attempts to do their set.
Bucket at 6:50
Start time: 7PM Saturdays Downstairs at Creek and the Cave
Power Hour! was created/hosted by Chris Damen with Keith Paesel, Ken Witzgall, Ashley Huck, and Cameron Ford at the Gallery Cabaret in Chicago, IL.
